Sundays started with going to church and then home to begin our family tradition of cooking 'Sunday Pasta.' The aroma filled the entire house as my mom fried meatballs and Italian sausage, reminiscent of the flavors you might find at an Italian beef food truck. We could hardly wait for her to serve them on a plate before they disappeared into the huge pot of sauce (which our family affectionately called gravy) – more vanished than she realized! At 2:00 pm, the family sat down to enjoy a delicious homemade Italian meal.
Throughout the years, I have fed hundreds of kids, students, coaches, teachers, and principals, all while embracing our family tradition of gathering around good food. My daughter and son kept me very busy with their classroom parties, athletic dinners, band camp, and the classic, 'Hey Mom, I invited 10 friends over for dinner'. 'Sunday Pasta' was always a big hit, much like the Italian beef we would enjoy at our food truck outings! I really miss those days...
Gigi’s Mad Italian was established in 2019 but was put on pause due to certain events in history. I'm very excited to share my passion for Italian beef and family tradition with the community through our food truck. With 30 years of experience in the food and hospitality industry, I can't wait to serve you!
